CONVERTING KATE by Beckie Weinheimer

Kate is a teenage girl living with her widowed mother. Her mother is a strict believer in the Holy Divine Church. Kate's father was not, and read books such as To Kill a Mockingbird. After her father's death, Kate explores her religion, much against her mother's wishes.

This book encourages readers to explore their beliefs and learn new things. I would absolutely recommend this book -- it was an outstanding book that I couldn't put down. It was thoughtful, but not boring. Outstanding. -- Miranda in Esopus

Kate is trying to live her life with her mom, who is pressuring her to live the ways of the Holy Divine Church. But Kate wants to follow other ways of a different church. She wants her dead father to always be with her even though her mother doesn't want her to. She's living with things her mother doesn't approve of.

This book was very interesting and easy to relate to -- I learned to believe what you want to and don't let anyone else influence your beliefs. Outstanding. -- Becky in Esopus
